FAQ’s
We understand that before investing in an Everhot electric range cooker, you’ll be wanting to know some key points…
When set at Everhot’s recommended cooking temperatures the 2 oven cookers will consume around 85 units of power per week.
.
The principle is very similar however Everhot’s product offers a great deal more control than the majority of other heat storage ranges – this enables you to set exact cooking temperatures if required – or even to turn off part of the cooker whilst leaving the rest on. It also incorporates a grill.
It is therefore possible for example to have two adjacent simmer plates when cooking jam or two roasting ovens on Christmas morning.
No regular servicing is required – a substantial cost saving over the life of the product.
Everhot offer a parts and labour warranty for 24 months following purchase – although the heating elements are covered for 5 years (parts and labour).
This of course depends on a number of factors; the size and orientation of your kitchen etc. During periods of very warm weather you might wish to turn off one or both of the ovens in order to reduce the heat output from the cooker. The vast majority of users do not have a secondary means of cooking and are happy to use their Everhots for 12 months of the year.
This is one of the great advantages of the Everhot – it can move house with you – although it does weigh at least 250KG (EVH 60) and some removal companies may ask that you utilise our services.
The hotplates and ovens are always at working temperature and therefore any food spilt on them will carbonise and can be swept away. The stainless steel sections may sometimes benefit from cleaning with Barkeepers Friend and a light scouring pad. The rest of the cooker (exterior and stainless steel surfaces) should be wiped with a damp cloth after use.
No – once you have found the perfect cooking temperatures you will very rarely need to make changes – although if you have something that is very ‘fussy’ on temperature, you can adjust it to exactly the right level.
Yes, all the wonderful benefits of cooking on a range cooker apply to the Everhot – a bottom oven that can produce fantastic meals that are cooked slowly and therefore do not dry the food out. Everhot ovens are made of thick walled steel and therefore cook the food uniformly by radiant heat rather than direct heat from an element. If you have enjoyed cooking on cast iron hotplates in the past you will find the Everhot no different in this respect.
No – the ovens are entirely independent to the hotplates. It is also worth noting that the hotplates maintain their temperature even when lifted for long periods.
The ovens are very accurately calibrated and are normally within one or two degrees of the set temperature.
Induction hobs require pans that are magnetic. Any new pans you buy will be marked whether they are suitable for induction, but most homes will have cast iron or stainless pans that are already compatible – simply check them with a magnet.
Some aluminium pans now have a magnetic base inserted which allows use – Everhot does not recommend these as they have been known to cause problems for induction hobs.
Please remember the pans for either the induction hob or cast iron plates should have a thick flat base to allow good contact.
